Job Summary;
This role drives actionable market and customer insights and supports the commercial organization’s strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include understanding customer priorities and challenges, analyzing competitors and market trends, and enhancing data-driven strategies. The role also involves developing tools and dashboards, leading benchmarking efforts, and supporting the fostering of a culture of profitability across the organization. Additionally, the position supports cross-functional projects to ensure alignment with business objectives and growth targets.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth assessments of key customers, identifying their strategic goals, operational priorities, and industry-specific challenges, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Provide in-depth insights into competitors’ positioning, strengths, and weaknesses by monitoring and analyzing their financial performance, strategies, and activities.
- Conduct geographic market analysis to identify regional opportunities and risks, including macro trends and competitive dynamics.
- Develop strategic presentations and briefing materials for executive leadership, summarizing key market and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Drive efforts to embed a culture of profitability across the commercial organization, ensuring profitability targets are integrated into decision-making, strategies, and processes.
- Support initiatives to improve the quality and reliability of profitability data, advocating for enhanced data systems and practices to enable more informed decision-making and better alignment with company goals.
- Explore trends in the industry, including innovations, sustainability, and technological advancements and lead the creation of reports delivering concise and actionable summaries for senior leadership.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional group-wide projects and provide strategic recommendations to challenge the status quo and expand the scope of the team’s commercial strategy initiatives.
- Support the sales teams and the sales management efforts especially around development and analysis of strategies for high-value bids, ensuring a competitive and data-driven approach.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
Work experience:
- 5 - 7 years of experience in data analytical roles, such as financial consulting, business intelligence or strategic analysis, ideally within a multinational corporation or consultancy.
- Proven track record in delivering actionable insights and influencing decision-making at a strategic level.
- Experience in the aviation or transportation sector is a plus.
Technical / Language Skills:
- Strong data mining skills.
- Proficiency in business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI and Power Query).
- Understanding of financial metrics and customer profitability.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and market segmentation techniques is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
