The internship is located in the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM), Human Resources Management Service, United Nations Office at Geneva. This internship is for a period of three months, from 15 March to 14 June 2023.

The internship is UNPAID and fulltime.

Interns work five (5) days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of the Officer in charge of internship.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the chief of the Management and Communication Unit and under the direct supervision of the training manager responsible for the Career Development programme at the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM), the incumbent will:

- Assist in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the UN needs assessment and compile the final needs assessment report.
- Conduct research on UN staff development, literature review and assist in initiating concrete actions on promoting UN staff career advancement.
- Manage and redesign the website of a global marketplace, assist in the coordination and communication with potential client and partners of the platform.
- Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of training and learning programmes in the areas of career development, diversity equity and inclusion, practical Geneva, management and leadership, hybrid and agile framework.
- Assist in developing and updating learning materials, resources and online & in-person activities.
- Assist in the webinars for those doing online courses:

- Contribution to the lay-out and design of promotional materials of workshops and courses organized by CLM.
- Assist with other language and management & communication programmes in the Section as desired and required.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and,
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
For this position advertised, fluency in English is required; and 'fluency' or 'knowledge' of French is 'desirable' or 'an advantage'.
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
