The World Economic Forum provides its stakeholders with a platform to engage with the Forum, each other, and the public through in-person and virtual events. The Global Programming Group is the team responsible for stewardship of the Forum’s world-class events and dedicated to providing consistent events architecture and services to support the Forum’s value proposition and impact agenda. It achieves this by shaping the Forum’s major events in the service of impact by embedding cutting edge intelligence, delivering novel interaction and experiences, and developing design frameworks and tools that support the Forum’s impact objectives.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

The Event Logistics Lead will report to the Head of Event Logistics within the Global Programming Group’s Operations Unit and will work closely with other Logistics Leads and Specialists, as well as other staff across the Group and the broader institution. Key operational collaborators will span thematic, business, government, security, IT, live production, media, public engagement, and digital teams as well as finance, legal and marketing.

Breakdown of Main Responsibilities- Ensure that all Forum events meet a uniform standard of excellence, including by developing and socializing event production frameworks, structures, processes, and tools to support the next era of the Forum’s strategic direction.- For in-person events, working with internal teams and with external counterparts to develop, plan and execute event concepts and projects around:

- Project Management: Initiate and lead projects related to event logistics, conduct analysis and make fact-based decisions, even in an ambiguous environment. Manage to involve stakeholders in the process and strong focus on change management.- Successfully stewarding the Forum’s world-class events, providing consistent architecture and delivery services, and ensuring that all events meet a uniform standard of excellence.- Impeccable project management skills, including the ability to manage complex assignments and balance competing priorities while delivering on time and within budget.- Ensuring that event milestones across the design and delivery lifecycle are reported consistently and regularly shared with internal and external stakeholders.- Proactive collaboration with colleagues within and beyond the Global Programming Group, and highest calibre of professional service delivery- Effective interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications with internal and external audiences.- Developing a strong understanding of the Forum’s mission and aligning the event logistics activities with impact priorities.

Preferred Requirements and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in business, media, communications, event management, hospitality, or other relevant fields.- 6+ years of professional hands-on experience managing (coordinating and executing from conception to completion) the operational logistics for global events including direct experience with vendor management, ideally engaging business, government, and non-profits in international environments.- Proven experience thriving in a multicultural work setting that is highly collaborative, and fast-paced; flexibility and the ability to work under pressure and embrace ambiguity is a must.-
- Problem-solving, proactive and service-oriented mindset, with excellent communication, project management, coordination, and organizational skills, ability to work independently and in teams, independent of the complexity or challenge. No task is too big or too small.- Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills; knowledge of German is an asset
