The Head of GCS Operations leads and has the end-to-end responsibility for GCS internal and external operations (Packaging, Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution and Label Management activities) to deliver high productivity, quality and cost efficiency. Drives GCS Outsourcing strategy, Third Party relationship management and business partnering.
Major Accountabilities:
- Develops and implement the unit’s global vision and strategy for the current and future development portfolio and activities. Is accountable for execution of the overall strategy as per plan with mínimal deviations
- Leadership of GCS internal operation unit fostering a healthy climate of high quality, efficiency and customers’ service.
- Build supplier relationships and drive strategic partnerships, whilst implementing the unit outsourcing strategy and processes. Accountable for global partnership network and deliverables
- Continually assess best practice benchmarking and provide insight into the GCS & CMC vendors strategy and processes.
- Leads and has the overall accountability for operational excellence and performance of the assigned unit in appropriately planning and delivering supplies to all clinical trials
- Is a key contributor to programs/function leadership -open and curious to seek and influence new opportunities & ways of working and drives continuous performance improvement programs
- Provides development path, coaching and training in order to maintain a talent pool that assures a high-performance organization. Ensures the cross-fertilization of know-how within the organization to enhance the performance by sharing best practice
- Has an Operational responsibility for overall quality and compliance. May act as a deputy of the Head of function when required
- Grow, manage and lead the GCS Operations organizational set up to ensure sustainability with high efficiency

**Minimum requirements**
Ideal Background:
- Advanced degree in science, engineering, or relevant discipline (Ph.D., MBA or equivalent)
- Proficient in English
- 10+ years’ experience in a variety of managerial roles and significant experience in Packaging and Distribution in the pharmaceutical industry
- Effective within a matrix environment with proven track record to successfully manage large cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams to embrace continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated outstanding contributions in one or more of the following: Clinical Trials Supply Management, Operational Excellence, Pharmaceutical Development, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing / Supply / Quality, Business Strategy & Analysis Experience with Operational Excellence methodologies;
- Track-record of developing people and capability;
- Highly experienced in change management. Intercultural experience and ability to act in a complex and rapidly changing business environment;
- Several years of experience managing people; must embrace people engagement as a key to high business performance
