Category Ocean & Air is an essential part of IKEA Supply Chain Operations organization, and 30+ coworkers are located in 3 countries in 3 regions, Europe, Americas, and Asia. Category Ocean & Air is focusing on the end-to-end Ocean flows with main carriage leg in focus as well as air shipment.

We secure optimal Ocean capacity throughout 20+ global / regional shipping lines at the right price, fulfilling agreed services and quality demands, compliant to safety & security requirement, be positive to climate, continuously contribute to the IKEA Vision and Business Idea.

**Job description**
As a Category Operations Leader in Category Ocean & Air, you will be instrumental in strategic and tactical development initiatives and projects to secure business objectives aligned with IKEA's strategic direction and the Ocean & Air Category’s business plan. Your role includes providing business intelligence and digital support, alongside setting quality standards that support the sourcing, development, and execution of contracts and services in the air and ocean logistics domain. Moreover, you will contribute to the total value chain by leading operations and competence development within the Category in all aspects. Your focus will be on the global scope, specifically concentrating on Ocean & Air Service Provider’s performance evolution with an end-to-end approach. In this role, you will report directly to the Category Operations Manager.

Your assignment as a Category Operations Leader in Ocean & Air Category includes:

- Together with the Category Operations Manager define the Category’s operations agenda based on the respective directions and priorities
- Take lead in the development of new concepts, tools, and ways of working to support a sustainable & innovative Ocean & Air Service Provider management and development
- Leading relevant projects within your area of expertise such as digitalization, innovation, performance management, and the implementation of new concepts.
- Promoting innovations from a process and product perspective; exploring new technologies and solutions; supporting their implementation, and ensuring required competence to secure & improve product availability and reducing cost
- Responsible for working methods, education packages and other steering documents; support and guide the business teams within the Category
- Supporting the process of defining and ensuring Service Provider’s performance by developing KPIs, conducting follow-ups, and establishing working methods to meet present and future demands.
- Assisting the procurement process with operational knowledge in the preparation and evaluation of procurement activities specific to the air and ocean logistics industry.
- Participate in external forums/networks, to be up to date with trends in the industry; support the Category’s business development with business and market intelligence
- Crafting new network planning concepts with a focus on production cost to ensure operational excellence and availability for our customers. Developing new methods of capacity management in transportation and logistics that balance supply and demand, preconditions, and optimal capacity.
- Lead or contribute to projects or global assignments; connect and collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders and partners

**Qualification**
You are passionate about working with transport, logistics, digital solutions development and have proven experience in successfully contributing to supply chain initiatives in big organizations. You can build trust and partnerships to reach common goals. With your solid competence in logistics and your business mindset you can find improvement opportunities and make them happen.
- University degree in economics or computer sciences, logistics or relevant working experience in the above fields.
- You possess deep knowledge and understanding of the supply chain & digital solutions and connected main cost drivers. Knowledge of procurement platforms (i.e.: Coupa), digital integration specification (i.e.: DCSA (Digital Container Shipping Association)) and connected solutions are a big plus.
- You are a self-driven individual with strong leadership skills who can drive initiatives and inspire collaboration, even without managing direct reports, and has the drive, desire, and motivation to constantly seek better solutions.
