**The Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) and the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI)**:
**Head of the Otolaryngology, Division of Otolaryngology at the EOC and Full Professor of Otolaryngology at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (100%)**:
**The successful applicant will hold the positions of**:

- Head, Division of Otolaryngology EOC, at at the Regional Hospital of Lugano
- Medical Director of the future EOC Otolaryngology Service
- Full professor of Otolaryngology at the Faculty of Biomedicine of the University of Italian Switzerland, Institute of Human Medicine, responsible for the organization of theoretical and clinical teaching of otolaryngology within the training programs in human medicine.

**Essential criteria**:

- Post-graduate degree in Otolaryngology pursuant to art. 20 and 21 of the Federal Law on University Medical Professions (LPMed). For foreign qualifications Mebeko recognition is required before starting the activity.
- Proven expertise in endoscopic surgery of the nose and paranasal sinuses, middle ear surgery, or head and neck cancer.
- Academic qualifications in Otolaryngology (Associate or full Professor) in a Swiss or foreign University.
- Ability to consolidate and build collaboration with local doctors, with other clinics, and with Swiss and foreign university centers.
- Solid and proven clinical and managerial experience in running a hospital division.
- Sound leadership skills, aptitude for team work and for the development of personnel and talents.
- Attention to continuous improvement with a view to safety, quality, efficacy and efficiency of patient care and services.
- Willingness to propose strategies to improve efficiency, especially focused on cost containment.
- Solid and proven experience in conducting a research program (clinical, translational and / or fundamental)
- Commitment to develop a training and research activity that favours the academic progression of collaborators, ensuring continuity with the activities already developed.
- Attitude to academic teaching, to the development of basic and continuing education in otolaryngology and a keen interest in scientific research.
- Willingness to collaborate with the members of the Faculty of Biomedicine of the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) for the definition and implementation of study paths and for the development of Otolaryngology research within the Faculty.
- Adequate knowledge of Italian, English and of one of other national languages.

- Involvement in the board of directors of the EOC Department of Surgery.
- Involvement as full professor in a new and dynamic Faculty of Biomedicine.
- Active participation in the realization of the Master in Human Medicine of the USI Faculty of Biomedicine.
