**Primary Director French**
**Purpose of Role**
The Primary Director is a critical role in the school covering all matters relating to the academic, pastoral management and leadership of Mosaic Primary School. The post holder has a number of operational and strategic responsibilities centred on three main areas:
- Championing innovation and ensuring quality in the learning experience for all students in the primary.
- Building an offering across the Primary that attracts new families and retains existing ones.
- Overseeing the management of an efficient Primary provision, including ensuring compliance and appropriate staff development.
This is an important role in the long-term development of the school, you need to establish long term relationships with families. Understanding and promoting what makes Mosaic special is a pre-requisite for the holder of this role. You will also play an important role managing, either directly or indirectly, a range of staff members. You will need to be a team player, collaborating effectively with a range of senior and middle leaders in the school. Key relationships will be with the Admin Director and the Principal, always ensuring that everything is aligned with whole school
initiatives.
The Primary Director reports and is directly responsible to the Principal.
From time to time, the Primary Director will, when directed, work with the ISP Regional Team.

**Key Responsibilities of Primary Director at Mosaic**
As a Senior Leader, you are critical in supporting the Head of School in establishing both a School of Choice and an Employer of Choice. You report to your Head of School and work in active, positive collaboration with your Senior Leadership Team. You are accountable for delivering on the desired outcomes in each of the components listed below, and the ongoing development of the school and learning improvement.
**Safeguarding and Wellbeing. **You are responsible for the safety and wellbeing for all students and adults. This includes all activities, functions and policies to ensure students and adults are kept safe both physically and mentally enabling them to learn without barriers. You work in partnership with your colleagues to learn from their feedback and you collaborate on action plans and improvements to ensure that the Primary is compliant.
**Managing staff. **To develop, and work in accordance with, the School’s curriculum policy and ensure that teaching is consistent with the ‘Amazing Learning’ agenda; to manage the staff so that they carry out their duties safely, cheerfully and efficiently, using effective lines of communication and record keeping; to ensure that teaching staff implement the School’s behavior policy and, by encouragement and clear communication, foster an understanding and acceptance of the standards of conduct expected of teachers; to ensure that the staff carry out their duties and meet the standards of behavior and routine required; to ensure that staff communicate speedily and efficiently with parents and that these communications, and any follow-up action, are recorded in the school’s systems; with the SLT you ensure that staff have access to professional development opportunities; to ensure an effective performance management system is applied fairly and efficiently to all staff; to support all areas of school life, attending school events where possible and encouraging staff to do the same; to successfully induct and settle staff into the School through regular meetings and a formal induction programme; you manage and conduct HR-related matters supported by the Director of HR. This could include informal meetings, formal hearings, and recruitment processes.
**Working with the Building Manager. **You support the Building Manager in all aspects of life in the Primary; you assist in ensuring appropriate provision and supervision; you guide and support in the creation of an appropriate learning environment; you support in running relevant systems for safeguarding, Health & Safety and attendance.
