We are looking for as soon as possible or as agreed upon for a PhD student (3-4 years). The salary is based on the regulation by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

The recently established Wehrli Lab at the University of Bern and Bern University Hospital (Inselspital) aims at designing, generating, and testing novel and more efficient next-generation CAR T cell constructs targeting different types of tumors in the preclinical setting. Our research is dependent on human in-vitro and in-vivo murine tumor models. The position offers a broad insight into translational research starting from designing to testing CAR cells in various settings under different conditions.

Tasks

The focus of the project aims to understand and improve the function of CART cells through the integration of synthetic proteins.

Your Qualification
- Hold a Master's degree in biological sciences or related disciplines
- Possess a keen analytical mind
- High motivation and ambition, excellent organization skills, high enthusiasm, reliability, and flexibility
- Basic knowledge of immunology is required
- A strong spirit of collaboration (team-player)
- Experience with basic laboratory cell culture techniques is desirable
- Experienced with CRISPR technology / CRISPR screenings are a plus
- Experience working with laboratory animals is an advantage
- Willing to develop independent thinking and learn new skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
