Global Head Business Development

The position is a global role and the role holder is part of the Licensing Business Unit leadership team. The role has accountability for securing and retaining customers conducting early research for Lonza. Role holder has direct reports based in various geographical territories to deliver the Business Development (BD) targets. The targets include securing and maintaining research licensees for Lonza’s core technologies. The research licenses are critical for delivering the long term licensing revenues for the BU and the company.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- BD team leadership
- Propose, review, manage, deliver and report BD targets through her/his team
- Coach direct reports towards achieving their individual goals as well as the BD team targets. Support them on their individual career journey through servant leadership embracing Lonza’s vision and values
- Provide timely performance feedback, set up and track individual development plans of team members and facilitate necessary supporting learning goals of her/his direct reports Roles in BU
- Work across functions in BU to streamline work processes and ensure that support and resources (e.g. technical, marketing, transactions, customer support, legal) to achieve BD targets are available in a timely manner
- Work with Licensing BU colleagues to coordinate new technology launches and to improve REA customer engagement
- Support delivery of BU projects to act as sounding board as needed
- Coordinate with other BUs and functions, particularly with sales leadership where needed
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned
