Is a member of the IBEX Mammalian Operations Leadership Team you will be responsible for management of Mammalian Process Development Services (Cell line construction and Process Development) in IBEX Visp. Furthermore, he/she leads a team of scientific leaders and process experts responsible for the successful development and optimization of mammalian biopharma processes. Is accountable for the performance and results of the assigned area including cost control.

Key accountabilities and duties
- Manages a team of scientific group leaders and process experts for Mammalian process development within the IBEX Visp organization, with full responsibility for all aspects of human resource management such as qualification, development, coaching, hiring, pay decisions and discipline issues.
- Ensures a good information exchange from the upper management levels to his/her team and the other way around through regularly team meetings and escalation of production issues.
- Implements the LONZA culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside the own area of responsibility
- Supports business development through evaluation support and support in customer meetings
- Responsible for organization and prioritization of Process Development activities to ensure successful and timely development of robust and scalable processes.
- Interacting with business unit for exploration and evaluation of new opportunities, as well as technical evaluation of new projects.
- Developing department goals and strategy and prioritize with respect to overall goals of Lonza, the Lonza BU, the Ibex site and the global Mammalian Process Development organisation.

Qualifications and skills required
- Bachelor / Master degree, PhD preferred
- Preferred area of study: Biology, Cell biology; Biotechnology, chemical engineering or related disciplines
- More than 15 years of experience in the area of biopharma manufacturing and / or process development preferable in the area of Mammalian Manufacturing
- Recognized expert in the area of biopharma manufacturing or process development; broad and Deep understanding of Bioprocess technology, especially in the area of mammalian cell culture; very good understanding of business and financial processes
- Strong leadership skills; excellent communication skills in speaking, writing, and presenting often at higher levels (German & English); strong networking skills; ability to engage customers to develop positive relationships.; strong team orientation
- Structured, focused and well-organized working attitude; open-minded for new ideas and suggestions; agile, highly motivated and dynamic drive; solution-oriented
