About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a MICE Business Manager to join the MICE team in Switzerland. The candidate will be responsible for team management (Team of 4), operational oversight and management, and developing the thriving business in Switzerland.

  1. Driving the MICE strategy for Switzerland, challenging the status quo and developing the brand across Switzerland.
  2. Creating, planning, and delivering large-scale events for a variety of foreign clients throughout the year.
  3. Managing a team of 4 MICE Project Managers ensuring standards are met and the team is performing.
  4. Developing the domestic market by working with corporate companies & partners.
  5. Promoting destination Switzerland at various trade shows (e.g., IMEX or IBTM) and other local events.
  6. Market mapping to ensure awareness of changing market dynamics and maintaining a competitive edge.
  7. Stakeholder management requiring strong sales and influencing skills.
  8. Proposal creation and pitching when required.
  9. Supplier management before, during, and after events.
  10. Negotiating with third parties to maximize value creation.
  11. Client and account management to ensure repeat business.
  12. Onsite management of events.
  13. Budget management of a large budget and post-event reconciliation.

Essential Requirements:

  1. Previous experience/working knowledge in the MICE industry for at least 5-7 years as a Head of MICE or within the MICE industry.
  2. Fluency in English and German; written and verbal language skills are essential.
  3. Deep knowledge of the Switzerland territory and what it can offer in terms of MICE services.
  4. Influential, able to guide stakeholders and team members.
  5. A track record of delivering results and managing a team to achieve targets.
  6. A strong network of clients and suppliers in the MICE industry in Switzerland.
  7. Passionate about their job and the fast-paced event industry.
  8. A natural curiosity for the hospitality environment and the passion to share their enthusiasm & knowledge.
  9. Strong team management abilities.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Enthusiasm for delivering outstanding results.
  12. The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex environment.
  13. The ability to run multiple events in parallel and manage a wide range of third parties.
