REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: CONTENT CREATOR

Red Wine & Blue is seeking Content Creators to provide ongoing creative content for our social media platforms. We are looking for collaborative partners that are engaged in and knowledgeable about local and state politics in our target states (OH, PA, NC, MI and VA) to help us expand our social reach and continue to provide our audience with accurate and engaging information.

WHO WE ARE:

Red Wine & Blue is a powerful grassroots network of over 650,000 diverse suburban women working together to defeat right-wing extremism. We provide everything women need to successfully organize in their communities and across the country – many for the first time. We provide a welcoming pathway to political engagement for suburban women – recognizing that when we work together, lift each other up, and organize, we win.

We provide ways of making a difference that empower women to tap into their personal networks. We know that people talking to the people they know is more than twice as effective than strangers talking to strangers. We tap into the power of women telling their stories. And we provide the content women actually want to share.

We connect women who care about the same issues in fun, productive, and empowering ways. Our community is a place where suburban women share triumphs, seek support, and learn from each other's lived experiences.

Our team organizes on the ground in five target states (OH, NC, PA, MI, VA) while maintaining a national distributed organizing program with over 500 grassroots groups spread across all 50 states.

PRIMARY SOCIAL MEDIA AUDIENCES

Red Wine & Blue's social media serves as an engaging and welcoming on-ramp to political activism and education for suburban women. We aim to meet women where they are politically and offer a non-judgmental space to learn about local and state politics. We create content to inspire action and/or educate on local area politics and our core issues. Our membership and social media following primarily identifies as female and ranges in age from 18 to 75.

We are launching a creators program with the following goals:

  • Create more localized content with creators who have expertise in the political landscape where they live.
  • Grow our network of subject matter experts who are up-to-speed on the issues that we care about in our target states of OH, NC, PA, MI and VA.
  • Populate our feed with a variety of creators, voices and perspectives who come from diverse geographies, backgrounds and demographics.
  • Support organizing teams (both within our target states and TroubleNation, our distributed organizing program) by amplifying members they are working with and providing another way for members to get more involved with RWB through content creation.

SCOPE OF WORK

We are looking for creators who can:

  • Collaborate with RWB's in-house Comms and Media team to generate weekly content including direct to camera videos, woman on the street interviews, explainer videos, lives, and graphics to share across RWB platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, BlueSky).
  • For videos: creators will generate ideas, write scripts and film the content; RWB staff will help with video editing (as needed), posting content and measuring analytics.
  • For events and live interviews: creators prepare talking points or remarks; RWB plans, promotes and executes events or interviews.
  • Leverage social media to clearly explain complex issues in a way that is easy to understand for diverse audiences, using plain language, real-world examples and accessible formats. Provide a welcoming on-ramp to politics, political engagement and issues RWB cares about: relational organizing, state and local elections, and issue areas like reproductive freedom, the economy and education.

Project Budget and Timeline

We're looking for contractors who can partner with us for four week engagements for an estimated four hours per week. The monthly budget is up to $750 per engagement, with an expectation that at least one piece of content (or interview or on-camera participation in a RWB event) is generated per week. Interested candidates should provide a proposal that includes samples of previous creative content for social media, content ideas aligned to your area of expertise, metrics you use to measure success of social content, how and where you get your news, your process for fact-checking sources, and how you stay engaged with your social media following.
