Sales Director Europe

The Sales Director Europe will be responsible for:

  • the wholesale sales and distribution operations of ASSOS of Switzerland throughout multiple European countries including Spain, Italy, UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Nordics, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Eastern Europe and ROW.
  • the retail operations in Lugano, London and Frankfurt.

The role’s core focus will be growing the network of IBDs carrying a significant selection of ASSOS premium cycling apparel in the sales territory by further developing our sales team and implementing programs which can both recruit new dealers and increase same-store sales.

Significant travel (c. 75%) across multiple European countries will be required.

This role will be based in Stabio and report to the CEO based in Ticino, Switzerland.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review current distribution network and define a 3-year distribution strategy together with SBO Directors

• Define a roadmap of openings and implement it

• Support SBOs daily on operational decisions

• Actively support the team during sales campaigns

2.- Business development and project management

• Develop ASSOS’ custom apparel business in the territories

• Identify new business opportunities

• Participate as key stakeholder in major sales-related HQ projects (e.g., CRM, B2B, sales academy, omnichannel)

3.- Collaboration with ASSOS marketing team

• Define a local marketing plan according to the territories’ goals

• Coordinate with marketing to implement POS programs and store build-outs

4.- Reporting and analysis

• Produce weekly and monthly reports

• Closely monitor sales vs. forecast

• Produce monthly dashboard to monitor and report on performance vs. KPIs

• trends and refine strategic plans based on learnings

• Responsible for a full FTE of 40 approx.

• Effectively trains and develops direct reports through coaching and providing appropriate levels of challenge

• Regularly assesses staff, provides constructive developmental feedback, and identifies training opportunities.

• Builds strong teams by setting expectations and goals, fostering collaboration, and recognizing achievement.

• Delegates effectively by matching required capabilities to demands.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

• University degree

Experience

•10+ years relevant sales experience with proven results in a highly competitive environment. Previous EMEA experience is a plus.

•Demonstrated track record of developing and leading a sales team to achieve extraordinary results.

•5+ years relevant experience in the cycling industry, particularly with working with IBDs

•Highly skilled in data analysis and developing strategic plans based on that analysis.

•Experience working with global brands and premium brands.

•Demonstrated track record of working across departments in a highly collaborative manner.

•Significant experience of communicating detailed information to a range of audiences in both written and verbal format

•Experience with Salesforce would be desirable.

PERSONAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

•Fluency in English. Familiarity with or fluency in European languages advantageous, particularly Italian
