Your key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting up the category incl ways of working in a context of expansion of the Pharma portfolio, as well as expansion of the business in new regulatory territories with the need to design/adjust the enterprise model
  • Product Family Management: Overseeing Pharma-related product families such as Generic (Gx) APIs (e.g., Roche, Thermofischer), CBD, and beta-carotene. This involves:
    • Strategic Planning: Crafting cross-functional product line strategies aligned with segment ambitions, optimizing competitive positioning. Ensuring alignment between sourcing, supply, and business strategies, along with the development and maintenance of sourcing strategies and contracts. Developing business cases with relevant departments when required.
    • Tactical Operations: Identifying avenues to enhance the overall profit and loss (P&L) of the product line. Maintaining comprehensive competition insights, ensuring current value propositions in specific markets, and recommending mid-term adjustments to business tactics.
    • Operational steering: Conducting the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process (PCR) for relevant products, implementing actions to boost business performance, and managing operational aspects. This includes supporting product launches, portfolio maintenance, phase-ins/outs, and change management, while coordinating cross-product family initiatives
  • Pharma-specific topics: Handling Pharma-specific matters across all product families (e.g., China DMF, Ph Code implementation) and facilitating resolution as required. Orchestrating and aligning the operational team's efforts to support the Pharma business segment, particularly concerning the ANH carve out
  • Representation and Strategic Partnership: Serving as the primary representative of Product Management in the Pharma Leadership Team and acting as a strategic thought partner. Collaborating on the strategic direction of the Pharma portfolio with a ten-year asset planning mindset encompassing all portfolio products.

You bring: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in science/technology, marketing, or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a similar industry, focusing on commercial/business or product management roles.
  • Demonstrated experiences in both operational and strategic roles.
  • Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams within a matrix organization.
  • Preferred experience in project management.
  • Preferred background in Pharma Ingredients business with a strong grasp of regulatory and manufacturing requirements.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and long-term planning acumen.

Important note:

This job title is temporary and will be adjusted once the job grading structure for the new Group will be adopted (covering among others: grades’ design, job evaluations, calibration, and job titles’ nomenclature). Until these adjustments are finalized, current compensation packages will be grandfathered for those whose new position turns out to be graded lower than their current position. This temporary period will last not more than 24 months for the legacy DSM Executives or legacy FIR SLT members, and not more than 12-18 months for all other employees from the moment the candidate moves into their new position.
