We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast‑paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full‑stack as we continue to push technology forward.ResponsibilitiesAct as the engineering leader of the SiteKit product, collaborating with extended workforce engineers and cross‑functional partners to develop the future of SiteKit.Act as a technical bridge between the SiteKit (SK) team and Google engineering realm.Follow AI trends and innovate SiteKit accordingly, offering site owners the best opportunities to monitor performance and advance.Understand the dynamics of the Web Ecosystem, the needs of small creators, the opportunities of CMSes, and the possibilities through WordPress and other platforms.Collaborate with representatives of product areas inside Search, Ads, etc., to align the product with the needs of Google and the Web Ecosystem.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.8 years of experience in software development.5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.3 years of experience with software design and architecture.2 years of experience working with Content Management System (CMS) ecosystems, including participation in the core development of a CMS, or developing, managing, and troubleshooting websites on a CMS platform.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.3 years of experience working in a structured organization involving cross‑functional, or cross‑business projects.Experience with Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.Equal OpportunityGoogle is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
