About the team you are joining

You will report to the Senior Manager Standards Development and will be responsible for managing industry standards setting activities within specific domains of the Enhanced Distribution portfolio. You will be part of a broader team called Industry Architecture and Passenger Standards that is managing the development of end-to-end Airline Passenger Industry Standards. These standards enable passengers to buy, change, and consume products/services from Airlines directly or via intermediaries.

What your day would be like
  1. Guiding the industry to build consensus on industry standards, including helping airlines define and document business requirements that drive the development of data exchange standards.
  2. Managing logistics of group activities within IATA's online collaborative environment, web and conference call facilities, and face-to-face meetings, including agendas, facilitating meetings, and documenting outcomes.
  3. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert on any matter which touches the portfolio, including the landscape of airline distribution.
  4. Collaborating closely with industry groups on process improvement and managing the delivery of relevant initiatives.
  5. Maintaining close relationships with member airlines, Strategic Partners, industry stakeholders, and regulators on key issues.
  6. Managing projects within the domain, which may include standards development and broader industry activities.
  7. Managing internal awareness activities to ensure IATA teams are informed and engaged.
  8. Supporting FSDS-Products in developing new products and services and Operations in areas of resolutions policies and customer services.
  9. Supporting the broader Architecture and Passenger Standards team.
We would love to hear from you if
  1. University degree in engineering, mathematics, or Aviation/air transport.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in areas such as distribution, revenue management, IT, and revenue accounting.
  3. Familiarity with XML and related technologies as a data and messaging format.
  4. Experience in data and/or business modeling and understanding of APIs and web services.
  5. Knowledge of IATA’s MAR program and associated changes to airline and industry processes and technology.
  6. Knowledge of industry standards and IATA standard setting groups.
  7. Project management skills and knowledge of Jira Software/Jira Administration/Confluence.
  8. Experience speaking to large audiences.
