For our customer, a big pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are looking for a Coordinator of Laboratory Workplace & Sustainability Initiatives (m/f/d).

CIRE seeks a highly motivated individual to join its team as Laboratory Workplace & Sustainability Coordinator. This role is pivotal in driving and ensuring continuous improvement efforts within the laboratory workplaces in the Diagnostics Division across environmental, social, and economic aspects of sustainability.

The perfect candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific or environmental sustainability field and has 1-3 years of experience in strategic or operational facilities management, laboratory planning/design, or environmental sustainability. They have worked in a laboratory setting as a scientist or lab technician and are eager to use this experience to transform the laboratory workplace, preferably in a regulated environment. The candidate is skilled in data analytics, proficient in MS Office and Google Suite, speaks fluent English and good German.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Perform demand analysis for new laboratory space demands in the Divisional portfolio in accordance with our process, and incorporate process improvements.
  2. Support ongoing pilots of the digital transformation of the laboratory workplace, such as real-time lab utilization measurement and lab assets tracking.
  3. Support the divisional FP-Score performance measurement and improvement initiative, liaising with internal stakeholders to identify and communicate opportunities and initiatives for improvement.
  4. Support the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with internal stakeholders to effectively monitor the performance of Diagnostics‘ global real estate and facility management initiatives.
  5. Support the facilitation of the One Roche Laboratory Workplace Community to foster engagement and exchange of best practices across both Divisions, Pharma and Diagnostics.
  6. Prepare concise presentations for internal/external communication and key leadership events.
  7. Coordinate sustainable lab initiatives to improve sustainability performance and achieve cost efficiencies, including the my green lab certification process.
  8. Liaise with other environmental sustainability initiatives in the Roche Network to ensure sharing of best practices.
  9. Conduct relevant qualitative and quantitative data analysis and propose solutions for process and product improvement opportunities.

Must Haves:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Scientific or Environmental Sustainability field.
  2. 1-3 years work experience in Strategic or Operational Facilities Management, Laboratory Planning/Design, or Environmental Sustainability.
  3. 1-3 years of working in a laboratory setting as a scientist or lab technician.
  4. Data Analytics experience (reporting, analytics, visualization, and data management).
  5. Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
  6. Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and good German skills.
  7. Self-motivated, pro-active, and confident individual with a can-do attitude.
  8. Teamwork orientation and effective task prioritization.
  9. Excellent communication skills and strong influencing skills.
  10. Exceptional openness and understanding for other cultures.
