Position Overview:

The ERP Testing Automation Lead will join a small team of business function process leads, IT domain leaders, and the ERP vendor representatives known as the Program Initiation Team who will work together to take the first steps in this journey. The team will work closely together to achieve a set of common objectives below ultimately leading to the initiation of the global program and the creation of all the articles needed to launch the project in 2025. This first, necessary step will ensure Ralph Lauren understands the key phases, impact, business resources, and timeline required to begin the program. Purpose: The purpose of this role is to work within a small team to manage the creation of an automated testing strategy and plan to implement to support the new ERP solution within RL. The role will involve working with the small team and the preferred ERP vendor to achieve the objectives below with the primary focus being to define the strategy for automated testing of the NGT ERP solution and the associated edge systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Program Initiation Team objectives:

  1. Creation of a detailed and documented understanding of the current RL IT AS-IS application environment across all 3 regions.
  2. Creation of a detailed and documented understanding of the current RL IT AS-IS infrastructure environment across all 3 regions.
  3. Creation of an interim state framework that outlines how the RL systems will need to be set up during the period of transition to the TO-BE status.
  4. Agreement on the way the current systems will be maintained during this interim state.
  5. Definition of the migration package, toolset, scope, and approach that will allow for the continued roll out of the new platform.
  6. Finalization of the scope of the TO-BE ERP system.
  7. Finalization of the infrastructure and related security solutions to support the TO-BE ERP system.
  8. Definition of the operational requirements to ensure that the new platform meets the needs of the business.
  9. Definition of the integration strategy and approach.
  10. Creation of an automated testing strategy.
  11. Creation of an application documentation repository.
  12. Creation of an overview of the approach for data migration.
  13. Identification of the impact of the new NGT ERP system on the data analytics and reporting capabilities within RL.
  14. Design and implementation of a clear Cyber Security framework.
  15. Creation and implementation of the transition to support documentation.

This role will define a strategy and approach to automate the testing of the new TO-BE solution. The scope will include the ERP systems and the immediate edge systems to enable a full acceptance test to be performed before any promotion of code to a production environment.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Work with all the IT, business, vendor teams to ensure a clear set of requirements is agreed for the testing of the NGT ERP and Edge systems.
  2. Creation of a clear picture of the current AS-IS, highlighting areas where automation exists.
  3. Creation of a strategy for automated testing outlining the impact on the configuration and development cycle.
  4. Definition of the team structure, skills, and capabilities required to support this on an ongoing basis within RL.
  5. Work with all other IT and business teams to gain approval of the approach.
  6. Definition of the testing dependency to support the interim state and migration framework.
  7. Ensure that testing can replicate the peak business trading volumes.
  8. Obtaining clear expectations on the timing that the automation service needs to support within the business.
  9. Areas to consider within the scope include but are not limited to:
  10. Systems in scope for either dual reporting or/and migration ongoing.
  11. Data entities in scope.
  12. Creating a Work package for the design and build of the automation system.
  13. Preparation of the various teams for the upcoming mobilization.
  14. Creation of an approach to testing of the interim and migration approaches.
  15. Assistance in identifying training needs.
  16. Development and maintenance of individual and integrated project plans.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
  1. Minimum 8+ years of experience with a proven track record in a related role.
  2. Experience within an SAP AFS and/or S4 environment.
  3. Knowledge of the leading methodologies, tools, and practices.
  4. Experience within a vertically integrated retail environment; fashion apparel experience is highly desirable.
  5. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  6. Ability to confidently engage with and influence senior executives.
  7. Strong analytical skills.
  8. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, a problem solver, thrives under pressure, and excels at multitasking.
  9. Strong strategic vision but is also comfortable taking a hands-on approach to achieve results.
  10. Can be based in UK/CH/NY/NJ.
