For the biggest BU at Sécheron, Electrical Safety Solutions (ESS), we are looking for an ambitious, energetic and experienced Business Development Manager/Developer leading all activities to drive financial growth of the Business Unit through boosting sales and in-depth market assessments.

Reporting to the BU Head, the main activities are:

  1. To develop and implement a growth strategy for ESS for existing and new products covering railway as well as renewable energy and industrial applications in order to ensure sustainable business growth.
  2. To identify business opportunities and provide market insights to navigate the product roadmap and development activities in R&D and support the sales team to increase their sales effectiveness.
  3. Drive and support the Business Unit product line managers, product development and the sales team in developing the product economics.
  4. Develop and implement a growth strategy focused both on growth and financial objectives in strong collaboration with the sales organization.
  5. Carry out market research and analysis to identify market opportunities in railway, industrial and renewable energy applications, guide the development of new business segments and the product roadmap.
  6. Develop, in strong cooperation with the product line managers and the sales team, business cases for individual products.
  7. Define, drive and track the implementation of corresponding action plans in close collaboration with the sales team and the product line managers.
  8. Prepare product launch and market placement plans in close cooperation with marketing, sales and product line managers.
  9. Prepare and maintain a comparative analysis of competitors’ products to support the sales network’s promotional efforts and provide input to product line managers.
  10. Prepare and organize key information for the business.
  11. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients in order to develop business opportunities.
  12. Provide market feedback to product development teams and after-sales support.

Requirements

  1. Technical degree in electrical engineering or in power electronics.
  2. Further education in industrial product marketing/business administration desirable.
  3. At least 10 years experience as international Business Developer in industrial B2B environment.
  4. Successful track record introducing power products to new clients, thereby driving key people across the organization.
  5. Proven working experience as a successful business development manager/developer on an international scale.
  6. Good knowledge of at least one of the following industry sectors: high voltage, railway traction systems, power transmission & distribution, renewable energy and e-mobility.
  7. Interest and ability to understand DC and AC power systems and corresponding product needs.
  8. Excellent analytical, project management and problem-solving skills.
  9. Outstanding communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  10. Ability to develop convincing communication strategies based on technical rationale.
  11. Proven ability to think creatively, identify and resolve problems.
  12. Experienced to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  13. High integrity and trustworthiness, open and transparent.
  14. Open to frequent travelling.
  15. Excellent communication skills in English; French and/or German are desirable. Other languages are a plus.
