We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Prototyping and Maintenance Technician to support our Research and Development (R&D) teams in our new brand offices in Ecublens – Lausanne Area.

This role focuses on executing Manufacturing Orders (MOs), both internally and externally, while providing technical support for equipment installation, prototype assembly, and maintenance.

This position is 100% on site.

YOUR MISSION

  • Provide technical solution support to research and development teams to facilitate project development
  • Respond promptly to internal requests regarding equipment installation, machining part manufacturing, prototype assembly and consumables preparation
  • Assist R&D teams with equipment installation and construction, including wiring of electrical cabinets and pneumatics
  • Manufacture parts using machining including CNC (programming and operating), turning, drilling, sawing, etc. with material in principle plastics, wood and aluminium
  • Operate 3D printers and potentially other equipment to produce parts for prototypes
  • Establish and maintain local supplier and service provider relationships to provide technical support to R&D teams as complementary solution to in-house machining capability
  • Source and procure technical components based on internal request from R&D teams. Selecting and screening proper suppliers according to different priorities among the delivery time, MOQ and cost based on the objectives of each request
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage administrative and financial processes related to technical suppliers and procurement, including tracking invoices, payments, and financial documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and expenses, ensuring compliance with internal policies and timely resolution of outstanding payments
  • Manage the mechanical workshop and improve the manufacturing process
  • Participation in the maintenance and improvement of the facility

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a professional degree as an industrial equipment constructor, automation specialist, industrial design engineer, or an equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge and solid hands-on experience in machining tools (including CNC) and both CAD software (ideally Onshape) and CNC programming
  • Experience in technical purchasing is a plus
  • Basic skills in general office software
  • Having a mindset of working in a start-up, research and development setting, embracing the dynamic and fast-paced work environment and change of necessity
  • Good communication skills with people from different professional backgrounds in a multi-discipline workplace
  • You are a versatile, autonomous person, with solution finding mindset
  • You are organized, rigorous and pragmatic, with a good team spirit
  • Fluent in both English and French is a strong asset
