Job Description:Scientific Business Analyst (f/m/d) – pharma / data /Jira / whiteboarding / labs
Project:
We are looking for a highly qualified Scientific Business Analyst for our customer, a big pharmaceutical company in Basel.
Background:
Your primary focus will be to assess the gaps between an innovative molecule management request platform (in-house development) and existing digital solutions that are candidates for decommissioning. This involves identifying capabilities and features that need to be either implemented or adapted in the new platform. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to update training materials and provide support and training to pRED scientists who will benefit from the digital product suite and its enhancements.
The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in a scientific discipline and initial professional experience in business analytics. The candidate should be highly motivated, curious about Pharma and R&D Informatics, a pragmatic thinker with problem-solving skills, and possess strong hands-on abilities. Fluency in English is required.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Capture and document user needs and feedback to inform continuous improvement of innovative products.
* Requirement analysis and documentation, including „As-Is“ and „To-Be“ business analysis for processes, workflows, and technical solutions.
* Enhance training materials, including user guides and other documentation.
* Provide end-to-end support and training for end users on established and new use cases.
* Effective communication and collaboration with product teams and scientific partners.
Must Haves:
* Minimum Master's degree in a scientific field (R&D labs) with a strong interest in digital transformative solutions.
* 1-5 years of experience in business analytics.
* High motivation and curiosity for Pharma and R&D Informatics (Data & Analytics).
* Ability to learn quickly with an open mindset and passion for working in a complex and urgent environment.
* Pragmatic thinking with problem-solving skills and strong hands-on abilities.
* Fluent communication (written/verbal) in English.
* Experience with Jira is preferable, along with other tools relevant to user requirements documentation (agile ways of working).
* Knowledge of software system design patterns and a keen interest in whiteboarding new designs.
* Basic programming skills are a plus (e.g., to validate and test out ideas). There will be a team of developers and APIs to work with (optional).
