About the Opportunity:
GSG is seeking an Eagle Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Business Analyst will be focusing on BAU activities in the area of portfolio and investment accounting. This role supports daily operations, addressing production issues, optimizing existing processes, and ensuring smooth intra-day and end-of-day operations. The ideal consultant will be a critical link between end-users (accountants, billing, compliance teams) and our technical team, ensuring all requirements are met and solutions are effectively implemented.
Responsibilities:
- Production Support: Act as the primary point of contact for accounting-related queries, issues, and challenges. Investigate and address daily production concerns related to the Eagle Investment Management System.
- Requirement Gathering: Engage with end-users (accountants, compliance, billing) to understand issues and provide detailed requirements to the technical team.
- Business Analysis: Analyze production incidents and functional issues, focusing on intra-day and end-of-day processing and batching operations within Eagle STAR. Determine root causes and propose practical solutions.
- Testing & QA: Collaborate closely with the technical team to test and validate solutions. Ensure any fixes, adjustments, or optimizations meet business needs and operate seamlessly in production.
- Support Coordination: Work with technical leads to align developer resources and track progress on resolving issues. Ensure timely communication of progress to stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of issues, requirements, solutions, and testing outcomes. Update workflow documentation as needed to reflect any changes or improvements.
Requirements:
- Portfolio & Investment Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles specific to the investment industry. Direct experience with portfolio and investment accounting processes is essential.
- Eagle STAR Experience: Significant experience with Eagle STAR, specifically in supporting BAU and operational tasks.
- Business Analyst Skills: Proven ability to gather and define requirements, investigate and solve business problems, and support end-user needs in a financial services environment.
- Production Support Experience: Familiarity with handling BAU work, managing intra-day and end-of-day operations, and resolving daily production issues.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Comfortable liaising between end-users and technical teams.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience in coordinating and conducting functional testing and user acceptance testing. Skilled in working alongside developers to validate solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in documenting requirements and analyzing operational workflows.
Preferred Skills:
- SQL Knowledge: Basic SQL skills are a plus for querying data within Eagle but not a mandatory requirement.
- Compliance & Billing Experience: Familiarity with investment compliance and billing processes is advantageous.
