We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with extensive banking knowledge and experience in data analysis and modelling. A proactive self-starter who effectively manages multiple initiatives while maintaining strong organisational skills. Demonstrates excellent collaboration abilities, essential for engaging with various stakeholders.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with business areas to understand their data needs and requirements.
  2. Define requirements for data products, including table schemas, in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  3. Design data models that meet business requirements and support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  4. Assist in the creation of data workloads such as reports, queries, spreadsheets, and dashboards in the new data lakehouse platform.
  5. Develop and execute test plans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  6. Write and optimise SQL queries to support the creation and validation of the data workloads.
  7. Document processes, data models, and any changes to business workflows.
  8. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data management.
Must haves:
  1. Proven experience in data projects, preferably within financial services, commercial banking or a similar industry.
  2. Deep understanding of business areas such as Middle Office, Risk, or Finance, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  3. Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimise complex queries.
  4. Strong experience in data modelling, including the design of table schemas and data structures.
  5. Familiarity with data platforms and modern data architecture principles.
  6. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Interpersonal skills:
  1. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have:
  1. Experience with specific data lakehouse technologies/platforms (Iceberg, Cloudera CDS, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
  2. Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (Spark, dbt).
  3. Knowledge of Object-Oriented Languages (Java).
  4. Knowledge of bash scripting (Linux Shell).
  5. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
