As a Sales Engineer based in Switzerland your role contributes to the business by being responsible for various types of technical aspects of the sales cycle, transmitting knowledge and information about the Axis portfolio to our partners and end customers. You will be part of a highly competent sales organization for Middle Europe (DACH & BeNeLux) with more than 90 employees. You are the technical expert and a trusted advisor in a sales-oriented team, providing expertise to both colleagues and customers. You will work closely with the Axis Account- and Key Account Managers as well as other colleagues in your territory. The ideal candidate should reside in a reasonable driving distance to the city of Zurich. The Sales Engineer role will be home office based with an expected amount of travelling of up to 50% on average.

What you will do at Axis…

  • Support the sales organization together with other Axis representatives but also on your own to influence projects with customer visits, product demonstrations, shoot-outs, proof of concepts and pilot installations

  • Support the sales organization in tender and RFP/RFQ processes and answering project related questions from colleagues and customers

  • Execution of high-level system designs that may include: detailed site surveys, camera placement, field of view calculations, pixels on target, audio design, bandwidth and storage calculations, BOM construction, schematic drawings

  • Continuously keep the technical knowledge up to date on the latest products, features and technologies in order to offer the best possible solution to the needs of the customers

  • Work cohesively across multiple departments and with multiple stakeholders (internally & externally) to ensure that expectations and performance goals are met in a timely and professional manner

  • Support to organize and execute as well as attend and represent Axis at road shows, industry trade shows and other events as needed

  • Conduct and coordinate onsite workshops for customers

What you will need…

  • Strong knowledge of the physical security and IT markets, Including complimentary products, technologies, future trends, and the market as a whole

  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, VLAN, Hardening, etc.)

  • Experienced design documentation skills (schematics, flow charts, topologies, metrics, FOV, pixels on target, angles, etc.)

  • Strong technical writing, presentation and public speaking skills (white paper, manuals, instructions, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)

  • Professional communication skills (listening, written, verbal)

  • Ability to work independently, adapt for changes and exercise good judgement based on varying circumstances

  • High level of self-initiative, self-motivation and sales orientation

  • Proven record of excellent time management and multitasking ability

  • Ability to convey complex technologies and specifications easily

  • Positive customer-centric attitude

  • To travel 50% on average within the sales territory and rare travelling to our Munich office as well as our HQ in Sweden is required

  • To speak German as mother tongue and English at least on the B1 level. Italian and/or French language skills are considered to be a plus.

Your Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or equivalent skills with proven practical experience

  • Experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role, ideally in the field of network video and/or physical security markets

  • Ability to facilitate engaging presentations and demonstrations to a variety of audiences
