What You Will Do

As part of Digital Transformation Office (DTO), Director – Data Assets & Data Products, you will play a key role in enabling the digital transformation for Kenvue Operations on a global level. You will own and implement a comprehensive data strategy to build and operate governed data assets and reusable data products from various Operations systems (e.g. ERPs, planning systems, manufacturing & quality systems / data sources including machines & IoT devices).

You will lead a high-performing team of data and domain specialists as well as partner with stakeholders in multiple functions and regions to lead the delivery of reusable data assets and data products that power insights, intelligence, and efficiency across Kenvue Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage the end-to-end data lifecycle and execution of data sourcing, harmonization, and curation for Operations Data (with key focus on internal data sources like ERPs, planning systems, manufacturing & quality systems including IoT devices)
  • Collect data requirements from data consumers and digital products / solutions teams, communicate data requirements to data providers and monitor compliance to these requirements
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure that the proper business context and impact are considered in discussions regarding specific data elements and data products
  • Model data using knowledge graph technologies to drive effective and timely fact-based decisions across the entire Kenvue supply chain
  • Partner with IT functions to build and democratize data products and data assets through our digital stack
  • Partner with IT to make tradeoffs with respect to data refresh rates, ingestion, infrastructure, architecture, technology stack, etc. based on different archetypes and scenarios.
  • Apply advanced analytics including AI and data science, intelligent automation, and other cutting-edge technologies to drive value and efficiency in data management processes
  • Partner with Master Data, Data Quality, and Supply Chain Functional teams (e.g., Plan, Make, Quality) to define and implement data standards; recommend process enhancements based on data quality insights
  • Support the global implementation of SAP S4 Hana and Master Data Management Platform MDG; own the Material Master data model
  • Lead a global team including data managers, senior managers and senior analysts, located across multiple locations (US, Canada, Switzerland, India etc.)
  • Provide thought leadership to the organization at all levels on topics such as: serving data as a reusable asset and one single source of truth, importance of data quality at source, risks, and costs of not treating data right, current data and tech paradigms we deploy (e.g., data fabric design), etc.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Specialization in data science, data engineering, or advanced analytics fields is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of business experience with at least 5 years of experience working within Supply Chain domains (planning, manufacturing, delivery / logistics, quality, procurement) required
  • Experience managing supply chain data from ERPs (e.g., SAP MDG, SAP S4 Hana), Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g. Tracksys), Planning systems (e.g. SAP APO, OMP, Anaplan), or other relevant systems is required
  • Subject matter expertise in data management principles such as data mesh, data fabric, knowledge graph etc. is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of new and upcoming technologies such as semantic knowledge graphs, active metadata management, and embedded machine learning is preferred
  • Experience with handling vast amounts of data from highly heterogeneous systems is required
  • Strong SQL querying skills, experience with Databricks is strongly preferred
  • Experience applying data modeling and data analysis techniques to enable analytics and decision intelligence is required
  • Experience defining data management strategy and associated operational standards (e.g., Data Lifecycle Management, Data Quality standards) is required
  • People leadership experience (min 5 direct reports or lead of team of teams) is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand business and technical functions, process information quickly, and assess impacts to data elements is required
  • Skilled at breaking down complex challenges into achievable tasks, empowering and motivating teams to successfully execute is required
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and translate complex concepts into business friendly strategies and roadmaps is strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills is required
  • Understanding of and hands-on experience with Agile principles is required
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional projects or programs is required
  • Experience working in or with a complex global organization spanning across functions and multiple locations is required

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in data science, data engineering, or advanced analytics fields is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure stack is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory, SOX compliance is required
  • Experience with IoT and machine/line-level data is strongly preferred
