Security Specialist

As one of the main suppliers to our global banking client in Basel, Swisslinx is in search of an experienced Security Specialist familiar with log management and SIEM tools to join a small and highly skilled team that interacts directly with the business, on a contract basis.

The client is willing to wait for the perfect candidate.

This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension, potentially up to five years.

In this role, you will assist the SEA team in enhancing SIEM rules (QRadar, Sentinel), aiding in advanced threat detection, supporting platform upkeep, establishing device configuration standards, and ensuring the quality of log collection.


Your tasks will include:

  • Creating parsers in QRadar.
  • Helping with rule creation in QRadar and Sentinel.
  • Verifying correct logging by log sources.
  • Collaborating with the SOC to ensure essential devices produce logs in line with policies and standards.
  • Contributing to enhancing the overall logging strategy of the Bank.
  • Supporting with maintenance and upgrades.
To qualify for this role, you should have the following skills and background:

  • Hands-on experience with log management and SIEM solutions within an enterprise setup, ideally with tools like QRadar, Azure Sentinel, and Windows Event Forwarding, or similar solutions (Splunk, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Fluentd, Rsyslog, Syslog-ng).
  • Exposure to Cybersecurity or a background in System/Infrastructure logging would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix logging (e.g., syslog, journalctl, auditd).
  • Capability to comprehend user requirements and appropriately implement them into an existing tech environment.
Desirable skills:

  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages.
  • Familiarity with platforms like ServiceNOW.
  • Knowledge of Unix-like platform management.
  • Experience in maintaining enterprise applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
Interviews will be conducted via video call, although the position is entirely based in Switzerland
