_ Context:
_
Under the overall supervision of the Shelter and Settlements Specialist, and direct supervision
of the Project Coordinator (Shelter and Settlements), and in collaboration with relevant units at
Headquarters and the Administrative Centres, the Project Coordinator will be responsible and
accountable for providing technical, administrative, and logístical support to HQ projects related
to rental assistance programming and support other relevant capacity building initiatives.

_Core Functions / Responsibilities:
_

  • Coordinate the overall implementation of the funded projects, including monitoring
the budgetary, administrative, and technical aspects, in line with IOM's policies and procedures,
as well as donor requirements.

  • Implement, maintain, or contribute to the improvement of relevant project management tools
to support efficient implementation, and milestone tracking.

  • As part of preparedness, engage with country offices to help identify potential implementing
countries, and during implementation maintain regular communication, provide guidance,
training and troubleshooting support.

  • Coordinate the allocation of project resources to country offices and maintain updated
guidance and SOPs for each mission.

  • Coordinate with relevant departments, including protection, legal, private sector engagement,
media and communications, finance, etc., to facilitate compliance with donor and IOM
requirements.

  • Monitor project progress and the achievement of project milestones. Bring issues or delays to
the prompt attention of the supervisor.

  • Coordinate adequate information management for project related activities, including
beneficiary data management according to IOM policies, data collection and analysis for
reporting and other information management products such as
factsheets, dashboards, etc., in close coordination with the donor and other relevant
stakeholders.

  • Draft quality progress Financial, Narrative, and other reports related to the project activities
and support regular communication with donors.

  • Undertake duty travel as required to monitor and support implementation of activities.
  • Map and explore potential partnerships with relevant sector actors, the private sector
(hotels, insurance providers, rental agents, etc.) for the expansion and improvement of rental
accommodation support projects.

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

_ Required Qualifications and Experience:
_

Education

  • Master's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Real Estate Management,
Urban Management, Humanitarian Affairs, Economics, and other related fields in an accredited
institution with two years of relevant professional experience, or,

  • University degree in above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Degree in Architecture, Urban Planning or related built environment profession is an asset.

Experience

  • Experience in project implementation, coordination and/or management.
  • Experience in developing training materials and/or delivering training.
  • Experience operating in crisissettings and supporting vulnerable people.
  • Experience in engaging with donors and partners.
  • Experience in designing or implementing Shelter/Housing programming.
  • Multisectoral experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with different international organizations specialized in humanitarian or
development assistance (e.g. UN agencies, INGOs, IOs, Donors, IFRC or ICRC) is an asset.

  • Experience in Market-Based interventions is an asset.
  • Previous experience in program reviews and evaluations is an asset.
