Financial Controller

We are looking for a Financial Controller to play a vital role in maintaining our agency's financial well-being and transparency. Collaborating closely with the Finance director and other department Heads, this individual will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, and insightful financial analysis. Attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and a collaborative mindset are key for success in our dynamic and culturally diverse agency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis - Conduct detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports utilizing the agency's ERP and various platforms. Perform ad-hoc SQL queries for data extraction and analysis. Identify trends and perform thorough variance analysis on financial data.
• Budget Management and Project Accounting - Support budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor expenditures against budgets, and oversee project accounting using ERP tools.
• Maintenance of Cost-Estimate Templates - Develop, update, and manage accurate and user-friendly cost-estimate templates in Excel to cater to different departmental requirements.
• Teaching, Support, and Control of Cost Estimates - Provide training and assistance to staff on cost-estimate templates and tools. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
• Analytics on Cost Estimates - Perform in-depth analysis on cost estimates to detect patterns, variances, and optimization opportunities. Present insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
• Internal Controls and Compliance - Assist in upholding compliance with financial regulations and internal policies through robust control processes in the ERP and other financial systems.
• ERP and Software Management - Utilize the agency's ERP system and other tools for data extraction, analysis, and cleansing to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
• Continuous Improvement - Actively enhance financial processes and systems, utilizing the agency's ERP and financial software to boost efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a creative or agency environment.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and SQL. Training will be provided if needed.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work in a team.
• Fluency in French and English.
