About the Role

As our Data Protection Officer, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our data protection strategy. Reporting to the Head of Compliance Data Protection, you'll advise and lead stakeholders in implementing our robust data protection framework. Key Responsibilities:


• Promote Privacy by Design principles across Swiss Re Group


• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and regulatory changes


• Investigate data incidents and conduct Impact Assessments


• Strengthen and implement our global Data Protection Framework


• Engage with regulatory bodies in Switzerland and Germany

About the Team

Join our global Compliance Data Protection team, dedicated to upholding data protection standards at Swiss Re. We provide essential guidance to internal stakeholders, evaluate new technologies, and oversee comprehensive data protection training. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting a variety of initiatives across the organization.

About You

Are you a proactive and passionate data protection expert? We're looking for someone who can translate complex concepts into actionable insights.

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience on data protection compliance with a legal, compliance or technology background (CIPP Certification or equivalent is desirable).
  • Good knowledge of data protection and related consumer protection requirements for the insurance sector.
  • Ability to assess data protection compliance risks and to propose and coordinate timely, commercially aware mitigating measures.
  • Ability to analyze data processing activities to make effective recommendations that enable the business to implement its strategy in a compliant manner.
  • Strong communication skills (fluency in German and English is essential)
