Medical Science Liaison

The Position

Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are responsible for engaging in non-promotional, peer-to-peer communications, providing medical/scientific information to Scientific Leaders (SLs) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs), driving scientific initiatives and supporting the field force.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Engagement with External Leaders
  • Build trust with external scientific community by engaging in peer-to-peer exchange of medical and scientific information with SLs or KDMs
  • Gain insights on disease, therapeutic area, and healthcare needs, and report back to internal stakeholders
  • Organize and participate in medical and scientific exchange activities, such as hospital lectures, journal clubs, and advisory boards
  • Represent Medical Affairs at non-promotional medical events
  • Help execute medical educational programs and symposia
  • Internal Support
  • Formulate Medical Affairs Plans and implement activities
  • Provide insights on scientific gaps and ideas to inform development programs
  • Support company colleagues with scientific training
  • Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Competencies
  • Communicate knowledge effectively in different environments
  • Critically review medical literature
  • Interact with commercial teams to explore opportunities
  • Analyze medical literature and trends
  • Present technical information confidently
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Medical degree, PhD in health sciences, PharmD, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical experience as MSL
  • Field medical experience
  • Fluent in English, German, and/or French
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in scientific exchange with health care professionals
  • Strong team player and collaborator
  • Excellent project and planning skills
  • Strong prioritization and strategic understanding
  • Scientific knowledge is a plus
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Experience in Neurology or CNS disorders
  • Understanding of compliance environment
  • Strong business acumen and ethics
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts
