As the technological spin-off of Solar Impulse, the first electric airplane to fly around the world, the mission of H55, is to make aviation clean, safe, and affordable.
Having integrated and flown 4 electric airplanes, the Swiss start-up has been selected by Pratt & Whitney Canada to provide the battery pack for its regional hybrid-electric flight demonstrator.
About the role
The Manager of Aircraft Integration Engineering & Customer Support reports to Head of Aircraft Integration.
This role will lead a team of engineer and drafters in designing, documenting and certifying the installation of Electrical Propulsion components into aircraft.
- Work with Design Organization to create Certification Program and Compliance Checklist for integration of electric propulsion system into aircraft.
- Overseeing technical accuracy and quality of team's work
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction and support
- Champion Aircraft Integration within the organization
- Development, growth and health and safety of team (Hiring and Training)
- Extend approvals of Part 21.J to include Aircraft modification and STC.
- Planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources
- Creation of and compliance to work processes
- Ensuring facilities and staff training meet requirements of Part 21.J
- Contract and/or nominate additional staff to perform work as required
- Ensure close collaboration of team with Part 145, part 21.J, Part 21.G and Flight Operations
- Growing maintenance business by working with Marketing department.
- Protection of Intellectual properties of the company
- Ensure compliance of direct reports to applicable laws and company processes
- Proactively identify risks and issues
- Financial budgeting of group
- Communication and reporting to leadership
- Interaction with Customers
- Time sheets, vacation etc. of direct reports
- Management of facilities and equipment
- Interacting with and supporting authorities during audits
Your profile
- Safety oriented
- Experience in small Design Organization (Part 21.J or equivalent)
- Experienced in discussions with EASA and other authorities
- Motivated selfstarter
- Organized and precise
- Quality focused
- Experienced with Electric propulsion systems and batteries (beneficial)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Ability to explain complex issues to others in a manner that's easily understood by people with limited knowledge
- Fluent written and spoken English (French is beneficial)
