Head of Partnerships and Communications

The Professorship for Methods of Plasticity Research is concerned with human brain and behavioral plasticity and the development of new research methods.


In addition to engaging in fundamental research, the team has been awarded BRIDGE funding to commercially exploit research results, with the twin objective of generating economic and social benefits.

To this end, we seek to appoint a Head of Partnerships and Communications who will take a leading role in technology transfer with Prof.

Dr. Nicolas Langer. The primary objective of the role holder will be to accelerate business development efforts.

Your responsibilities:

Business development:

  • Contribute relevant intelligence (including, but not limited to market research, legal & regulatory framework, organizational development)
  • Lead the development of the business plan: take forward the analysis of the competitive landscape and relevant market trends, identify challenges and opportunities, develop the unique value proposition, the financial plan and develop offerings taking into account strategic objectives, current and future capacity.
  • Define milestones to guide the timely execution of the business plan, prioritizing the obtention of business license, intellectual property protection and raising initial investment.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive company culture to establish a fulfilling working environment.

Fundraising:

  • Identify investors, conduct due diligence
  • Develop attractive marketing material, including, but not limited to, pitch decks.
  • Lead/Support engagement with investors
  • Track progress of funding efforts against targets, suggest improvements to improve performance.

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Foster, manage, and grow a global network of strategic partners (prioritizing UNITECTRA, current research partners, venture capital, clinics, and government stakeholders).
  • Monitor partnerships to ensure that timely progress is made and relevant meetings take place; act as troubleshooter to ensure smooth relationships with partners.
  • Identify mentors and advisors.
  • Attend industry event, join relevant professional organizations.

Communications:

  • Strengthen brand identity, lead the development of a range of communications tools to support business development;
  • Establish a high performing customer service and support; ensure customer feedback is used for improving offerings.
  • Establish an effective internal information management system.

Your profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in the area of Business, Psychology, or related fields; a Master's degree, PhD or equivalent experience welcome
  • A minimum of 812 years of relevant experience in the fields of fundraising, partnership management, communications, entrepreneurship and/or general management with demonstrated successful track record
  • Outstanding project management skills: demonstrated ability to phase and organize tasks, multitask competently, and set priorities
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take a team approach and step up when needed to make sure goals are achieved
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, solid analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Fluency in English (fluency in German is a plus)
