TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality which utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe and Israel.

Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer and other types of solid cancers.

Medical Director, CNS Cancers EMEA

Job Summary:


As Medical Director, CNS Cancers EMEA,
you will provide leadership in support of the medical and scientific initiatives for TTFields Therapy.

As such, you will play a critical role in defining and executing on the medical affairs strategy in alignment with the overall business and commercial strategy for TTFields.

You
will report into the Vice President, Global Head Medical Affairs, Neuro-Oncology and will be a key member on the Global Medical Affairs Neuro-Oncology Leadership Team, as well as on the extended Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team and the Business Leadership Team for EMEA.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the medical affairs strategy for Neuro-Oncology in EMEA and ensure alignment across all medical affairs tactics and deliverables
  • Provide strategic medical input as an essential member on the global leadership teams for Neuro-Oncology
  • Serve as the medical and scientific expert on TTFields Therapy for internal and external activities such as advisory board meetings, steering committees, faculty training, product training with a focus on neurooncology
  • Assume a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining key opinion leader relationships
  • Lead Regional Teams of Medical Directors and/or Medical Science Liaisons
  • Assess scientific/medical data gaps and develops evidence generation plan(s) to address these gaps, including post marketing studies and database analyses
  • Provide guidance and approvals of promotional materials in the field of neurooncology in close collaboration with the Medical Communications team
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team in developing an integrated medical strategy
  • Ensure strict compliance with medical and ethical standards

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • MD or equivalent degree required, with at least 5 years of clinical experience in the field of oncology; additionally experience with neurooncology, neurosurgery or radiotherapy is required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry with product launch experience
  • You can demonstrate a strong understanding of clinical research and clinical trial design and management
  • You have excellent presentation skills, are articulate and able to lead others through influence
  • You are able to build trust with all stakeholders, conducting yourself ethically and with transparency at all times
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • You work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • You have a strong business acumen and understanding of workflow prioritization, with the ability to multitask and triage as needed
