80-100 % :The Department of Quantitative Biomedicine (DQBM) fosters excellent research and education at the interface of biomedical research, biotechnology, and computational biomedicine to develop the foundations of next-generation precision medicine.

Your responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated scientific management professional.

You will be working at the interface of science and administration and play a leading role in further shaping and managing the operational business of the department by supporting the department leadership in a broad range of activities:

  • Operational responsibility for the financial, infrastructural and human resources of the department;
  • Supporting the strategic orientation of the department, in particular implementation of strategic plans and academic teaching development;
  • Quality management, business process optimization and evaluation;
  • Grant writing and fundraising on the departmental level;
  • Organization and development of intradepartmental events, including research talks and retreats.
  • Preparation of reports for the Faculty of Science (MNF) as well as for the university management;
  • Organization of regular meetings within the department (professorial staff meetings, town halls, etc.);
  • Leading the administrative staff team.

Your profile:

  • PhD or MD, preferably in thematic alignment with the DQBM's scientific mission
  • Proven ability to manage projects
  • A strong interest in higher education policy
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, independent, well organized work style
  • Leadership experience is an advantage

Language requirements

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • German: B1 or higher is an advantage

Digital skills

  • MS36
  • Knowledge of SAP and CMS is an advantage
