Why we are Recruiting:
The C4IR is the foremost platform for leaders to anticipate emerging technologies and promote responsible sectoral and industry transformation.
It drives progress by linking national ownership and action with global network-based collaboration, learning and scaling via mainly government-hosted and -funded independent 4IR centres.
The C4IR is organized in thematic teams and sub-teams leading communities and initiatives in areas ranging from "AI and Machine Learning" to "Bioeconomy" to "Space Technology", and "Network and Partnerships Team" (NPT) which is responsible for engaging stakeholders across all thematics.
Concretely, the objective of this team is to engage stakeholders in mission-driven, multi-year, system-level initiatives and to enable the global network of national/thematic C4IR centres leverage such initiatives as well as the Forum's communities, convening power, digital infrastructure, visibility and brand.
The Network includes 19 4IR Centres at national and subnational levels driving responsible and inclusive adoption of technologies in industries, economies and societies.
Reporting Lines & Interactions:
The Community Lead, C4IR Network reports to the Head of Strategic Impact, C4IR and will operate across multiple teams and geographies in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
They will coordinate and collaborate closely with the Network and Government Affairs team that serves as primary contacts and relationship managers for the 4IR Centres in countries.
They will also facilitate an internal community of practice with colleagues from across the Forum's 10 global thematic Centres who support in-country 4IR Centres on their thematic initiatives and activities.
Establishing productive relationships across the institution and externally will be of utmost importance to succeed in this role.Breakdown of main responsibilities:
- Strengthen strategy and delivery model for the C4IR Network and coshape multiyear strategies and collaboration plans for new 4IR Centres.
- Lead the incubation, onboarding and evaluation of new 4IR Centres including through inperson workshops, onboarding program and other processes.
- Facilitate community of practice and capacity building of colleagues from across the Forum's 10 thematic Centres delivering value to 4IR Centres, and work to expand the portfolio of "engageable" initiatives.
- Collaborate with relevant Forum teams to build new products (e.g. digital tools), delivery roadmaps and resourcing models to support 4IR Centres.
- Design and deliver network level activities such as monthly calls, annual retreats, capacity building programs, fellowship programs or shared sessions at Forum Summits.
- Build or update actionable tools and templates to support Centre development, incubation, onboarding and evaluation.
- Curate insights from the global network and its experience of national and local action to shape and deliver future community agendas, programs and events for the network.
- Track relevant KPIs and analytics to track the health and impact of the network and implement ideas to improve performance.
- Collaborate with the 4IR Centres and Network and Governance affairs team (primary contacts for 4IR Centres) to ensure coordinated delivery on all above.
Preferred requirements and experience:
- Master's degree or equivalent. 7+ years work experience in a combination of community management, process or operations consulting, product development and deployment, management of incubators or accelerators, design and delivery of training programs.
- Handson experience developing and managing complex projects and operations, building highperforming and crossfunctional teams and helping to turn ideas into tangible action and impact.
- Strong communication skills, and experience designing and facilitating communities, workshops and meetings both virtually and in person.
- Excellence in written and spoken English. Experience of drafting leadership or executive briefings and communications an advantage. and shortterm objectives in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
- Experience of working with teams in diverse global locations in a fastpaced environment.
