This role is part of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), which focuses on anticipating emerging technologies and driving responsible industry transformations. The C4IR convenes leaders from various backgrounds to shape technology governance and its applications across industries and society.

About the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Network (C4IR Network)

The C4IR Network aims to accelerate the responsible adoption of technology and industry transformation at national, subnational, and global levels through policies, pilots, and partnerships. With 19 centers across five continents, the Network has already made a significant impact at both local and global scales.

The role of Regional Agenda Lead, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, is crucial due to the rapid evolution of technology in national development. As cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) continue to reshape economies and societies, there is a growing need to bridge the gaps in AI adoption across different regions. This position aims to guide the responsible design, development, and governance of AI to address these challenges and promote inclusive AI development.

Reporting Lines and Interactions

The Lead, Strategic Integration, Artificial Intelligence, will report to the Digital Technologies Portfolio Manager in Geneva. In a dynamic environment, the role involves collaborating with teams across various locations to effectively fulfill responsibilities.

This position requires close cooperation with stakeholders within AIGA and the C4IR Network, as well as direct engagement with staff from independent C4IR Affiliate Centers.

Breakdown of main responsibilities

The Regional Agenda Lead will focus on strategic integration, thought leadership, and community engagement in advancing the Forum's work on AI. Responsibilities include:

  • Stay up-to-date on developments in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and provide internal and external thought leadership
  • Lead initiatives on 'National AI Ecosystems' to drive AI transformation at regional and national levels
  • Develop strategic integration strategies with C4IR Affiliate Centers to enhance collaboration
  • Incubate new projects as needed and ensure alignment with Forum activities
  • Manage and engage multistakeholder communities and partnerships
  • Collaborate with various teams and organizations to leverage resources effectively

Preferred Requirements and Experience

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in areas related to AI and technology
  • Experience in leading operations across multiple jurisdictions and sectors
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work in diverse environments
  • Excellent project management, relationship management, and collaboration skills
