This position is part of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR).
The C4IR brings together leaders from business, government, international organizations, academia and civil society to shape the global agenda on technology governance.
Why we are recruiting
Generative AI, from research to technological adoption, continues to expand at a rapid pace and stand to have a growing impact on governments, enterprises, institutions, and individuals alike.
While the benefits of generative AI already are evident across sectors, it also presents multifaceted challenges, from data and misinformation to responsible design, risk mitigation and governance.
In order to meet these challenges, the World Economic Forum has launched theAI Governance Alliance
Reporting lines and interactions
The Lead will report to the Head of AI, Data and the Metaverse. The role will also work with key stakeholders across the Forum, including other center heads and leads.
The Lead will get an opportunity to work closely with a broad range of external stakeholders, including governments, businesses, social enterprises, and international organizations.
Main responsibilities- Manage a community of purpose by coordinating regular communication and working group meetings to surface and recommend governance frameworks linked to international collaboration and governance of AI.- Work with Fellows to drive the development of and write recommendations around priority issue areas including policies and regulations, societal implications, and novel institutional approaches of AI governance.
Preferred requirements and experience- Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience in policy, government affairs, international organizations, or academia; added plus if experience was in relation to the topics of AI policy, regulation, international cooperation, and an interest in technological guardrails from privacy, security, interoperability to safety- A master's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred- Deep knowledge of the key actors in AI governance and the implications of their strategies in areas such as policy; regulation, safety; data, copyrights and privacy- Proven capacity to manage strategic projects in collaborative and ambiguous environments, involving high-level leaders from government, business, civil society, academia- Ability to write informative and insightful content, with experience creating digital content, research papers, academic articles, or similar- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify trends and patterns of transformation and demonstrated experience linking diverse concepts into coherent narratives- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; verbal proficiency in other languages would be an asset
