Foresight & Intelligence Manager

_What this position is about - Purpose:_


As a key member of the Foresights & Trends team at JTI, you will be leading quantitative research and intelligence gathering to facilitate strategic priority setting across the JTI product portfolio.


You will coordinate and deploy the quantitative global trends tracking program across JTI regions as well as running in-depth diagnostic research / analysis into prioritized future-facing topics with other members of the Foresight & Trends Team.

You will be responsible for developing an approach to connecting consumer trends to in-category data sources and for exploring and piloting predictive AI platforms, to better anticipate and track global cultural shifts and stay close to evolving consumer needs and behaviors.


Further, you will also be responsible for helping develop the competitor business intelligence and insights strategy, managing the process and tools to expand JTI's view of competitor market trends and consumer behavior.

This will involve developing a new competitive insights platform as part of the JTI Strategy & Insights Hub, and continuously monitoring system requirements and procedures according to the competitive intelligence strategy and objectives.

_- __Responsibilities:_**
Quantitative Trend Tracking


Coordinate and deploy the quantitative global trends tracking program across JTI regions (Western Europe, Eastern Europe, APAC, MENEAT, Americas, Japan) as well as running in-depth diagnostic research / analysis into prioritized future-facing topics with other members of the Foresight & Trends Team.

Responsible for developing and deploying an approach to connecting consumer trends to in-category data sources, to ensure maximum actionability at the global, regional and market levels.

Responsible for exploring and piloting predictive AI platforms to better anticipate and track global cultural shifts and stay close to evolving consumer needs and behaviors.


Competitive Intelligence monitoring


Responsible for developing the competitor business intelligence and insights strategy, managing the process and tools to expand JTI's view of market trends and consumer behavior, identify competitive risks and challenges, uncover new opportunities, and inform strategic decision making.

Develop and deploy new competitive insights platform and reporting tools as part of the JTI Strategy & Insights Hub. Responsible for linking and synthesizing internal and external data sources (e.g. Web and social media presence, marketing communications, IP filings, annual reports and investor presentations)

Internal partnership building


Successful stakeholder management, notably with business functions and Regions / markets to deliver future focused insights to inform decision making.

Lead the democratization of quantitative trends tracking and competitive intelligence at JTI.

Who are we looking for:

_Requirements:_

  • University Degree, Masters, MBA or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Insights and Intelligence related roles. FMCG marketing and tobacco business knowledge is a plus
  • Expertise in conducting primary quantitative research and connecting different data sources through data fusion techniques
  • Practical knowledge of data visualization and dashboard reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and experience using different data sources to create compelling and insightful reports
  • Ability to create impactful stories and data visualization based on data analysis
  • Familiarity with knowledge & insights management platforms (e.g Marketlogic, Stravito or similar)
  • Interest in AI and machine learning
  • Strong analytical acumen, quantitative skills, and attention to details
  • Strong verbal and excellent written communication and presentation skills as well as fluency in business English are required. Other languages are an asset
