About the team you are joining

IATA's Sustainability and Economics division works with airlines, regulators, and civil society to develop and implement policies, standards, and solutions that support the sustainable development of air transport and mitigate its impact on the environment.
You will report to the Senior Manager Sustainability Standards and Audits, and you will be responsible for the development and implementation of IATA’s new sustainability assessment program. 

What your day would be like

You will work with various external and internal stakeholders and coordinate and review their deliverables. You will identify volunteering organizations and support pilot testing and implementation of the sustainability-related standards while overseeing the development of guidance and best practices. Specifically, you will:


Finalize the BRD and vendor selection processes.
Oversee the vendor selection process and vendor onboarding.
Coordinate and oversee the development of sustainability standards and guidance.
Support (on-site and remote) the pilot implementation of the standards with volunteering organizations.
Lead monthly update meetings with relevant internal stakeholders.
Develop and present to wide-ranging audiences on progress and development.
Track, record, and present on project progress.
Close collaboration with sustainability experts, aviation stakeholders, and airline working groups.

We would love to hear from you if

Have more than five years of experience in managing social, environmental, or broader sustainability issues in a large organization.
Have knowledge/experience with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards, including sustainable procurement implementation.
Have experience in the aviation industry with a good understanding of aviation organizations (airlines, airports, ground handlers, etc.) and their sustainability management matters.
You have knowledge of ISO Guidance and ISO Standards (specifically ISO14001, ISO26000, and ISO20400)
You are a flexible team player, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
You love presenting and have strong public speaking skills.
You have a strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients.
