The world’s fastest-growing sportswear brand is looking for an experienced and passionate team player to join our global Customs Team as Trade Compliance Lead.
As the Trade Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring risk-based compliance with national and international trade regulations. This role involves developing and implementing effective trade compliance programmes, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and support the company’s growth. You will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and further build the Trade Compliance function to drive awareness, provide guidance, and contribute to the overall success of our business. You will shape this role within a flexible and dynamic working environment where every day is a different game.

Your mission

– Become a highly visible and collaborative growth enabler within On by analyzing and shaping On’s global trade and customs footprint on both daily and strategic level to balance global risks with the group’s speed of growth
– Contribute to the strategic supply chain and logistics set-up of On (e.g. factory locations, warehouses, product flows)
– Strengthen global trade management (governance), foreign trade and customs compliance based on robust and scalable processes, systems, and controls
– Manage risks associated with supply chains and global trade operations
– Monitor and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations associated with cross-border trade together with your central team and cross-functional stakeholders, local resources, and external service providers
– Identify, assess and make use of global cost-saving opportunities with a strategic view
– Challenge current processes and technologies used to generate continuous improvements and automation opportunities
– Oversee global customs audits
– Be the Customs representative in cross-functional teams ensuring compliance with non-trade compliance topics such as ESG
– Lead a growing team of subject-matter experts in topics like tariff classification, origin, and Customs valuation

Your story

– You are an exceptional, passionate, and experienced leader with a proactive personality who is able to connect strategic and operational levels in a high-energy and fast-paced environment
– Degree in Business, International Trade, Law, or a related field
– 6+ years’ relevant work experience with extensive knowledge of EU and international Customs and trade laws and regulations
– Solid working knowledge of Tariff classification, Free Trade Agreements, Customs Valuation strongly preferred, including practical experience
– Proven ability to adapt to changes, to dig into technical details, and translate complex technical issues to non-experts
– Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage cross-functional topics, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
– Ability to drive complex, cross-functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, executing on tasks, and presenting results
– High affinity for processes, systems and data, including the ability to dig deep into the numbers without losing the big picture
– Fluency in English
