Job Description
Hyperscale Power is building the power backbone for the AI data center era: a complete power conversion chain from 13.8kV–35kV medium-voltage AC down to 800V DC, combining ultra-compact SiC-based AC/DC and DC/DC power blocks. As we scale from Alpha customer readiness toward Production and Volume Readiness, securing the right components at the right price and lead time – power semiconductors, magnetics, PCBs and mechanical parts – becomes mission-critical. As Procurement Specialist, you will own the contracting and purchasing of the materials, equipment, tools, parts and services that keep our prototype, pilot and volume production on track. You will negotiate directly with suppliers, work closely with the Supply Chain Coordinator on scheduling and logistics, and partner with Engineering to translate technical requirements into sourcing decisions. It is a great opportunity to build hands-on procurement experience in a fast-growing hardware startup, with direct exposure to sourcing, supplier negotiation and production ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract and purchase raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, services and supplies needed for prototype, pilot and volume production.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers for critical components – power semiconductors, magnetics, PCBs, and mechanical/enclosure parts.
- Compile and analyze statistical data, track trends and manufacturing/supply processes, and maintain necessary purchasing records.
- Issue and manage purchase orders; track order status and expedite as needed to meet production schedules.
- Support supplier qualification and specification compliance for new and existing vendors.
- Work closely with Engineering to understand technical requirements for sourced components and communicate them clearly to suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Coordinator on inventory levels, lead times and logistics coordination.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and identify alternate sourcing options for critical or long-lead-time components.
- Help scale the supplier base and purchasing processes as we move from Alpha Customer readiness to Production and Volume Readiness. Qualifications
- BSc in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or comparable education, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in electronics or hardware manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation skills; track record of managing supplier contracts and pricing.
- Familiarity with sourcing electronic or mechanical components (semiconductors, PCBs, magnetics, enclosures) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, comfortable with data analysis and record-keeping (ERP systems / spreadsheets).
- Team player, comfortable working cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Language
skills:
fluent in English, spoken and written; German language skills helpful, but not mandatory.
- The job will be located at our HQ in Egg b. Zürich in Switzerland. Benefits
- Equity + competitive salary.
- Unique technology and market opportunity – validated prototype and first paying customers on the path to volume shipments.
- Hybrid work with flexible working times.
