Ourdivision aims to be the leading research body in terms of air transportation,and we have a central role in helping to shape the thinking of the industry.Reporting to the Headof Economic Policy, the successful candidate will support IATA's global effortsand prioritized engagement on aspects relating to industry taxation andtaxation policy. This work will beundertaken in coordination with the SVP Sustainability and Chief Economist, thePolicy Director, other workstream Heads, as well as internal and externalstakeholders. The work agenda will be fully integrated with that of the wholedivision, coordinating and collaborating wherever possible, aiming for holisticand multifaceted analyses.What your day would be like- Conduct researchand analysis and prepare written reports, policy papers, and submissions onindustry taxation issues. These will relate to policy frameworks and assessmentof both existing taxes and new taxation proposals, and their impact on airlinesand their customers;- Supported byrobust, evidence-based research and analysis, engage with governments and taxauthorities on issues relating to industry tax policy, including influencingthe development of new policy proposals at a national, regional, and globallevel;- Promote industry taxstandards and best practices;- Develop relationswith international bodies that conduct work in the taxation sphere, such as theUnited Nations and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD);- Act as a recognizedinternal source of industry taxation expertise;- Collaborate with a range of different teamswithin IATA, including in the regional offices, to identify and develop agreedstrategies to engage on taxation issues;- Participate in all the work of the economicpolicy team and make contributions to a range of topics. Similarly, contributeto the work of the Division across the topics of sustainability and economics. We would love to hear from you if- University degreein Economics, Finance, Law, or similar. Post-graduate qualifications would bewell regarded.- Minimum of 7 years ofexperience working in a research or international environment on public policyissues including notably tax policy.- Solid knowledge ofglobal, regional, and national taxation policies with an emphasis on corporatetaxation and on their effect on international airline operations. Familiaritywith various taxation databases, such as TTBS, and other resources would be anadvantage;- Demonstrated highlevel of analytical skills and research capability; and- Strong stakeholdermanagement skills, underpinned by excellent oral and written communication inEnglish.
