Title: Junior Cloud & DevOps Engineer – Commodities Technology

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Our client, a major international financial institution, is seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to strengthen its commodities technology function in Zurich. This role focuses on designing and operating robust, automated, and scalable cloud solutions that underpin front-office trading, market analytics, and risk management. The successful candidate will play a key part in advancing cloud adoption, accelerating data-driven decision-making, and modernising the technology landscape supporting global commodities trading.

Duties Include:

  • Design, develop, and enhance cloud-native solutions and automation frameworks using Python and Azure services.
  • Build and maintain high-performance data and compute pipelines leveraging Azure, Databricks, and modern orchestration tools.
  • Implement CI/CD workflows, deployment automation, and monitoring capabilities across multiple trading applications.
  • Partner with traders, quants, analysts, and risk teams to deliver stable, scalable systems tailored to business needs.
  • Introduce best-practice DevOps principles to improve platform reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code, containerisation, and environment standardisation.
  • Conduct incident investigation, optimise system performance, and ensure seamless day-to-day operational support.

The preferred candidate should possess experience in writing clean, efficient production-level Python code and strong knowledge of DevOps practices (e.g., Git, Agile methodology) with additional knowledge in MLOps, model architecture design, and testing patterns) excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interact at all levels of business efficiently.
