ServiceNow CMDB Consultant

Overview

Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical organization, is embarking on a major ServiceNow CMDB implementation program. We are seeking an experienced
ServiceNow CMDB Consultant
with strong architecture and hands-on development skills to support the design, build, and deployment of a robust, compliant, and scalable CMDB solution aligned to pharma industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Lead the end-to-end CMDB architecture for the program, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, ITIL/ITSM best practices, and pharma regulatory requirements.
• Define the CMDB data model, CI classes, relationships, and normalization/reconciliation strategies.
• Design integration patterns for upstream/downstream systems (e.g., discovery tools, asset databases, inventory systems, ITSM processes).
• Establish governance and operating model for CMDB lifecycle management, including data quality, ownership, and compliance controls.

Development & Deployment

• Configure, customize, and extend the ServiceNow CMDB module, including class extensions, workflows, reconciliation rules, business rules, and automation scripts.
• Develop and implement Discovery and Service Mapping configurations in alignment with architectural design.
• Build data onboarding pipelines, transformation maps, import sets, and integration workflows.
• Deploy CI models and populate the CMDB with reliable data through structured onboarding, migration, and integration activities.
• Perform unit testing, support UAT, validation/CSV activities, and ensure deployment readiness.

Project Delivery

• Collaborate with cross-functional pharma stakeholders including Infrastructure, Security, QA/CSV, and Application Owners.
• Contribute to project planning, effort estimates, technical documentation, and design validation.
• Ensure compliance with pharma-grade standards, including validation, auditability, documentation, and change control (GxP where relevant).
• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams on CMDB architecture, best practices, and ongoing maintenance.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with
  ServiceNow CMDB
  in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Proven experience in
  CMDB architecture
  , CI modeling, and solution design.
• Strong ServiceNow development capabilities: scripting (JavaScript), UI policies, business rules, flows, data imports, integration development.
• Experience implementing
  Discovery
  and
  Service Mapping
  .
• Prior work in
  pharma / life sciences environments
  with understanding of GxP or validated systems.
• Solid understanding of ITIL (esp. Configuration Management, Change, Incident, Asset).
• Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server configurations, ETL tools).
• Strong documentation and communication skills, especially for regulated environments
