The Lemanic Institute for Regenerative Medicine (LIRM) is a non-profit organization founded in 2023 at the forefront of innovation in therapeutics and patient care. We aim not only to lead in research excellence but also to communicate effectively with scientists, stakeholders, patients, and the public.

Position Summary

The Strategic Alliance Manager will be in charge of fostering collaborations, securing external funding, and driving strategic business development initiatives. The position requires a proactive mindset who can identify and build partnerships with foundations, private donors, crowdfunding platforms, and industry stakeholders to support the Institute's mission and research priorities.

This position is 6-month internship open to people registered at the Swiss unemployment office as part of the BNF program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure funding opportunities from philanthropic foundations, trusts, NGOs, and impact investors.
  • Design and manage innovative crowdfunding campaigns
    to support specific research programs and public engagement.
  • Build strategic alliances with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and healthcare organizations to foster joint projects and translational research.
  • Develop commercial opportunities related to hiPSC reprogramming, CRISPR-Cas9 applications,
    in vitro
    disease modeling and hiPSC differentiation technologies.
  • Cultivate relationships with funders, partners, and external collaborators.
  • Collaborate closely with the scientific and communication leads to align fundraising strategies with research priorities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business Development, or related field.
  • Excellent negotiation, networking, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proactive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Proficiency in English; French is a plus.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in business development, fundraising, or alliance/collaboration management in the biotech, pharma, or academia.
  • Proven track record of securing funding from foundations, investors, or crowdfunding platforms.
  • Familiarity with hiPSC technology, gene editing (CRISPR-Cas9), and regenerative medicine strongly desired.
