We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer on behalf of a prestigious private bank in Geneva.

About the role :

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Bank's compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, as well as adherence to ethical standards in financial markets.
  • Support Bank employees in understanding and applying compliance-related standards through advisory, awareness, training, and monitoring activities.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance in all operational tasks within the Compliance department.

Main Activities

  • Review account openings from an AML (CDB/LBA) and tax perspective, and prepare files for the CCO in cases involving high-risk clients.
  • Conduct periodic account reviews.
  • Follow up on compliance-related cases and carry out investigations when necessary.
  • Prepare documentation for reporting to MROS and other authorities when required.
  • Monitor transactions flagged as high-risk.
  • Handle alerts related to sanctions and politically exposed persons (PEPs).
  • Perform ad-hoc compliance checks on areas such as AML, cross-border activities, market abuse, taxation, etc.
  • Ensure the correct application of Swiss regulations (LFINMA, LBA, OBA-FINMA, CDB, FINMA circulars, etc.).
  • Participate in the review of regulatory frameworks, internal processes, and compliance-related projects.
  • Provide guidance to Bank employees on compliance matters, including AML, cross-border regulations, and market integrity.
  • Stay up to date with compliance developments and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Report regularly to the Head of Compliance on completed tasks.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits related to compliance and support auditors during their reviews.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong technical knowledge of AML (CDB/LBA), OBA-FINMA, cross-border regulations, and market conduct rules.
  • Analytical mindset with strong writing skills.
  • Curiosity and a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Versatility and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Italian is an asset.
