China Construction Bank (the second-largest bank in the world) opened its Zurich Branch in 2016, becoming the first Chinese bank in Switzerland and the only RMB clearing bank for Switzerland. Our goal is to provide reliable, high-quality, and efficient financial services to Swiss companies with business relations in China and Chinese companies with business relations in Switzerland. We primarily focus on corporate banking for top companies from selected industries, large and medium-sized clients, and support their trade and investment relationships. Additionally, we are also developing our business with medium-sized, family-owned Swiss companies to help them establish their presence in the Chinese market. Our offerings include commercial lending, trade finance, treasury, RMB clearing and settlement, RMB Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (RQFII), and other banking products and service. Our bank has experienced steady growth, and we recognize that our people are a key asset. Currently, we employ about 40 professionals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

Senior Relationship Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated and engaged Senior Relationship Manager.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Client responsibility for the Swiss market, including Swiss large corporates, global multinationals and SMEs, with a focus on on-site visits, credit assessments, and due diligence including KYC.
  • Extensive experience in the commodity sector, combined with expertise and strong competencies in trade finance, will be preferred.
  • Anticipate customer needs and propose tailor- made solutions across all Corporate Banking product lines.
  • Establish and nurture long term global relationships with key level decision-makers of Swiss Corporates (Board Members, CEO, CFO and Treasurers).
  • Prepare credit ratings, credit proposals and business applications; while monitoring ratings, limits, and customer information in the bank's New Generation IT System.
  • Act as the first line of defense for sound risk management within CCB Switzerland, regularly reviewing financial performance and budget achievement.
  • Leverage CCB networks and Group expertise for the benefit of both the Group and Swiss corporates.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role within a financial institution, preferably in corporate banking.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German; proficiency in Chinese would be an advantage.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a multi-cultural, international environment.
