The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.

As the Research and Reference Trainee you will be supporting the team with various task, aiming to be the source of reference on the history of the Olympic Movement and Games. Additionally, you will also be guranteeing the availability and dissemination of quality information.

Research and Reference Trainee's main responsibilities:

  • Respond to factual information requests from internal and external clients.
  • Provide document support and verify historical data for internal and external publications.
  • Assists the team in projects related to the curation and creation of knowledge databases / articles.
  • Updates information related to the history of the Olympic Games (athletes, editions, NOCs, sports...) into the OSC knowledge sources.
  • Identify and collect the information sources required to create reference content and documents.
  • Assist with monitoring, filing and electronically managing the Section's documents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent training in history or information/documentation.
  • Fluent in English or French, with good command of the other language (spoken and written)
  • Excellent command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good knowledge of the Olympic Movement and sport in general.
  • Experience in a documentation or research centre, or in a position in a similar international environment.
