Job Description:

We are looking for an intern to join us in our mission to develop blood-based biomarkers. As a Biomarker Discovery intern at the (LIRM), you will play a crucial role in our efforts to develop blood-based biomarkers that can accurately monitor the progression of neurodegenerative diseases and age-related cognitive decline. You will contribute to the development of novel assays and identification and validation of novel biomarkers that hold promise for early diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of disease progression.

Responsibilities:

1. Biological fluid analysis:
Perform and optimize techniques to isolate analytes from blood.

2. Assay Development:
Develop and optimize assays for the detection and quantification of candidate biomarkers using various analytical techniques such as immunoassays, mass spectrometry, and next-generation sequencing.

3. Data Analysis:
Analyze experimental data using statistical methods to identify biomarker signatures associated with disease progression and treatment response.

Duration:

6 months

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field. Strong interest in biomarker research and translational medicine.

  • First experience in biochemistry or assay development is a plus.

  • Knowledge about scientific data analysis.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Rigourous mind with strong ability to generate accurate reports, document experiments and write SOPs.
