Senior Compliance Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join a Bank in Zurich on a temporary basis, starting as soon as possible. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this is an excellent opportunity to help continue to develop the regulatory controls, framework and policies of the Bank. Experience from a Corporate or Investment Banking environment would be highly beneficial, as well as experience managing senior stakeholder and coordination with the Regulator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior point of contact for all compliance-related matters, overseeing the implementation and enhancement of compliance controls in line with Swiss, EU, and international regulatory standards.
  • Drive the execution of regulatory projects, including complex remediation initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in the regulatory landscape, translating them into actionable policies and frameworks.
  • Ensure robust AML (Anti-Money Laundering) controls, including transaction monitoring, customer due diligence (CDD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and training to compliance and business teams, fostering a strong culture of regulatory adherence.
  • Deputise for the Chief Compliance Officer as required and liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to maintain transparent and constructive relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in a senior compliance role within the banking or broader financial services sector.
  • Strong expertise in compliance controls and regulatory framework design and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing regulatory projects and remediation programmes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Swiss and EU regulatory requirements, with particular strength in AML regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels. Ability to work well in a team and a highly collaborative environment.
  • Fluent in English; and other European language is a plus.
